as in the new Gus Van Sant film about Harvey Milk, the first openly gay elected public official. The cast is AMAZING. I love James Franco. Pineapple Express and Milk in the same year. Wonderful range my dear.
The movie felt like a replay of this past election. I feel Milk's call for San Francisco, and California as a whole, to be a symbol of hope for the nation's homosexuals runs parallel with Obama's call for change. The movie also covered a big proposition on the California ballot involving basic rights for homosexuals, but that time the gays won out. Crazy to think that 30 years down the line the gays are still fighting for basic civil rights. It's not fair. And as my dad would say, "Life isn't fair." But isn't that just an excuse to not work to make it fair?
