CScout Japan

I would do anything to work at this company. Doing research on marketing trends in Japan, focus on Tokyo- my dream. Their blog just covered the Tokyo Girls' Collection- a super cool event that, while it sounds incredibly fresh and new to me, is now in it's 8th season. Sasuga Japan! Check the blog out here: http://www.cscoutjapan.com/en/ and prepare to be wow'd.

Twitter.com

I created a twitter account ages ago in order to more creepily follow the comings and goings of my favorite flickr.com photographer but never really got into it because other than that photog, I knew no one who was actually using twitter. I still don't personally know many people who are using it, but because of a recent project I delved into the world of twitter once more. And man, oh man, is it interesting. and kicking my ass.

I've started by following publications I read on a semi-regular basis, like the NY Times, which they convienently break down into sections so you can get updates on the supjects that interest you. Then I added local people and places I'd like to know more about, like Downtown Tempe. And then I found blog updates on what's closest to my hear at the mo- Japan. All this news on everything creative and cool is delivered to me in one space. And it's so unobtrusive. I check it when I want and it's not like my inbox, which I have a compulsive need to keep clean and organized. I've been reading a lot of blogs and articles about people doing fabulous things that I want to do too. So it's not so much kicking my ass in terms of giving me a sound beating. Instead it's kicking my ass in gear to do something productive and creative every day.

So in support of taking baby steps towards a goal, I'm starting out with doing at least one blog entry per day and see where I go from here!

being a nerd

I finished Fruits Basket, the shojo manga with the "Teens 13+" rating, and I cried. I am double the age group this manga was written for and I still got swept up in story of Tohoru and the Sohmas. NERD ALERT.

I love that people are excited about America and being American.
